I conducted my very first workshop on August 10 & 11, 2013. It was an Introduction into Cloisonné. It was held at Flux Metal Arts in Mentor OH. Flux is an incredibly welcoming studio / gallery space with lots of light, work space and TOOLS! http://www.fluxmetalarts.com/index.html
I had 4 "students," all who work at or take workshops at Flux. All had metals experience and most had prior enameling experience. They all did a fantastic job and it made my job a whole lot easier! They were all enthusiastic and we had a great time! I supplied the fine silver for the cloisonné base, the fine silver cloisonné wire, the assortment of Japanese & French enamels, the mountings for the finished pieces, sand paper, and the liquid counter enamel. Flux Metal Arts provided the tools, kiln, kiln equipment, and everything else that we needed.
Each student was given a 1" round disk of fine silver to work on. They were to bring in a simple design of their choice and to translate that into wire and glass, choosing from the available enamel colors.
Below are photos from the 2 days and the finished pieces that we made!
